Growing up outside of Richmond, Virginia, I always knew I wanted to be an attorney, but I didn’t know that I would end up doing tax, trusts and estates. I attended Dartmouth College for my undergraduate degree, majoring in Art History (much to my mother’s horror) with a dual minor in Government and French. From there I made my way to Boston where I worked for two years as a paralegal for the corporate department at Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP. After attending Cornell Law School, I returned to Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP where I assisted the corporate and tax and estate planning groups. Eventually my work became more and more heavily focused on tax and estate planning and less focused on corporate matters.
In the fall of 2017, Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP dissolved and a group of its attorneys formed Lynch Fink & Labelle LLP, where I served as a managing partner until I decided it was time for a change at the end of 2020.
I’ve had the opportunity to serve a number of clients whose situations vary greatly. I especially love meeting with clients and hearing about their personal objectives and the family members and friends who mean the most to them. The personal aspect is what makes this work truly enjoyable.
At the same time, there is nothing that excites me more than tax season. While most people dread the April 15th deadline (or whatever other deadline applies - I’d list them, but there are too many), I look forward to that time of year when I really get the chance to use both sides of my brain to tie together the language of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations and the numbers that appear on tax reporting forms.
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband, Justin, our daughters, Evelyn and Claire, and our Boston Terrier, Mary Todd Lincoln. In a former life I was somewhat of a runner (not because I possess any athletic prowess but rather because that’s the one sport that seemed the simplest - all it takes is putting one foot in front of the other). I have run five marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. These days I mix in knitting and puzzles but I still try to get out to Castle Island for a run (or, admittedly, walk).
